It has been a successful weekend for Rory Burns and Matthew Dunn in Australia – with both putting excellent performances for their respective clubs.

Burns, playing grade cricket in Sydney for Randwick Petersham CC, scored his maiden T20 century as he notched an unbeaten 102 in round two of the CSG Twenty20 Cup.

Facing a Manly-Warringah side that also included Leicestershire seamer Nathan Buck, Burns opened the innings and carried his bat to help his side to 160/7. In response, Manly were only able to raise 136/6.

Across on the west coast, Dunn is turning out for Sturt CC in the South Australia Grade Competition. Playing against Adelaide this week the fast bowler took 6/39 as Adelaide were skittled for just 99. By the end of the first day, Sturt had declared on 106/4 in response.

Back in Sydney, Jason Roy is playing for Easts CC and scored 30 as his side slipped to a narrow defeat against Gordon CC in their last match, also in Sydney Grade Cricket.

In Sydney, the new set of matches starts next weekend, with Roy’s side taking on St. George and Burns’ Randwick Petersham taking on Sutherland. In South Australia, Dunn’s side will play the second day of their game against Adelaide.

As well as the matches, all three players are working hard in Australia. Burns and Roy are working with former Australia and Yorkshire batsman Phil Jacques whilst Dunn is attending the Darren Lehmann Cricket Academy in South Australia.
